Shaping the Future of Supportive Housing: FHO’s Strategic Plan for 2026–2029

Shaping the Future of Supportive Housing: FHO’s Strategic Plan for 2026–2029
For 60 years now, Fellowship Housing Opportunities (FHO) has provided affordable, supportive housing for adults living with mental health challenges. Founded on the belief that recovery is possible and that stable housing is essential to dignity and independence, FHO has remained a trusted partner in the community—evolving with changing needs while staying grounded in respect, accountability, and person-centered support.
As the affordable housing landscape continues to shift, FHO’s 2026–2029 Strategic Plan sets a clear and focused path for the years ahead. Building on decades of experience, the plan outlines how the organization will strengthen sustainability, expand and adapt housing, deepen community engagement, and invest in the people and systems that make the mission possible.
At the heart of this work is FHO’s mission: to provide affordable housing, advocacy, and personalized support for adults with disabilities so they can live with dignity, stability, and independence. Guided by a vision of a resilient, inclusive community where everyone has access to safe, affordable housing and the support they need to thrive, the strategic plan translates values into action.
Over the next three years, FHO will focus on building a stronger and more diverse financial foundation while remaining responsive to community needs. The organization will continue to optimize and adapt its housing to support residents with a wide range of experiences and abilities, ensuring that stability and independence remain central to every housing opportunity. At the same time, FHO will deepen relationships with donors, partners, and community organizations, sharing the impact of supportive housing and elevating resident voices.
Equally important, the plan emphasizes investing in people. FHO will prioritize staff development, leadership capacity, and internal systems that support clarity, accountability, and a healthy workplace culture. By strengthening its team and infrastructure, the organization ensures it can sustain its mission well into the future.
Progress on the Strategic Plan will be reviewed regularly by leadership and the Board of Directors, allowing FHO to remain flexible and responsive as conditions evolve. Together, these efforts reflect a continued commitment to creating safe, affordable housing and supportive communities—where people can build stable lives with dignity and hope.
“When we support mental health together, we strengthen our entire community—and create space for everyone to belong, heal, and thrive.”
