"On Your Own, But Not Alone" Subsidized Housing for People with Independent Living Skills
FELLOWSHIP APARTMENTS,
WASHINGTON COURT, Fellowship Housing manages three multi-unit buildings which provide facility-based Section 8 subsidies in individual and shared units. The buildings are located in neighborhoods and are convenient to shopping, services and transportation. As funding for these projects has been granted under HUD’s Section 811 program, applicants are limited to adults with mental illness who have very low-incomes. Fellowship Housing staff are engaged with tenants in various landlord/tenant functions such as income verification, rental payments, lease agreements, maintenance requests. As needed, tenants may be eligible to receive Outreach Services from Fellowship Housing staff to assist with maintaining their skills for living in the community and managing their illness. Fellowship Apartments opened in March 1993 and is a six-unit building with two one-bedroom, two two-bedroom and two three-bedroom units. Washington Court opened in September 1998 and is a six-unit building with two efficiency apartments, two one-bedroom apartments and one three-bedroom unit. Fayette Street Project opened in January 2004 and is a five-unit building with three one-bedroom units and two two-bedroom units.
